Compared to all the other stuff out there, these are cheap. Mind you, if you're hooked on "stock quiet", this is not for you. It's not overly loud on the pushrod Hondoids but I really do like that dBDawg I installed on Q's OHC motor. I'll end up putting them in the other two TC2's I have on the Hondoids anyway..

Pull the baffle. Can't get any cheaper or easier than that....but you lose your spark arresting if you do any USFS land on trail rides.
I don't mind a louder exhaust. My old Ironhead chopper I rode in my younger years was deafening....but everyone knew I was there. The TC2 opens it up and has a nice sound on the Hondoid motor. They "brap" when you're on it but roll the throttle back and it softens up.

It's what happens when a spark goes bad and ends up on the wrong side of the law....
Couldn't resist............;-)
It's the diversion of possible sparks from your exhaust by a spark arrestor (either baffling or screen ,etc..) and then Smokey Bear is after you if that happens in a forest.

As 2LZ stated, spark arrestors are required to prevent forest fires. Mufflers with spark arrestors and noise suppression are mandatory for riding off road in U.S. National Forests.

So on the Hawk, should I order the 1 1/4 or 1 1/8" FMF pipe?

Measure the diameter of the exit of your exhaust header to choose the correct size.

They really are an excellent and high quality set up for the $$$. Really hard to beat compared to how expensive some of the other pipes and slip-ons have become. I have three of them (X-moto, Q and Rhino)....but again, if "stock quiet" is your thing, this isn't for you, but it's NOT ear shattering by any means. The dB Dawg does help. I may end up doing the other two just because.
What I like is it's USFS approved for USFS land and also, state owned OHV parks. Passing the coat hanger test is a must here in CA.
