I cut out the spark arrestor that's all I have done to the exhaust. Might remove the catalytic converter in the near future.

Depending on your elevation, you might wish to try a 112.5 or even a 115 main. That might get you a little more. How is the plug colour?

is your 60MPH limit due to lack of power, or too high RPM's ?

If too high RPM's, maybe change to a smaller rear sprocket as well?
-- someone correct me on this if I am wrong --

That's strange man, I have a 200 and a 39T rear sprocket and I can't get outta 4th(65mph EZ). Get great gas mileage and 4th gear doesn't even raise an octave at 8K RPM. So, I think all this good advice and a re-examination of the factors with your ride might be a need. It's a 250 I can't see you having a prob from my POV. My carb is only a 27mm Keihn with stock everything.

I just want you to know I'm not saying your doing anything wrong because your situation is boggling. But you have all the elements for a good ride. Personally, I would look into your sprocket ratio and or governor situation if possible. Though, my rear sprocket is 39T it's very tall for my 1st gear..(definitely a street cruizer by now on my end)

17CS/REAR 43-45T might be a good balance. But that 250 should be humming along with no probs regardless.

Thanks I'll play with the gearing a lil more. Maybe find a better working combination.
