New Hawk...! down 1 To Go.

Just received two new Hawks Yesterday from apscusa.com. One is assembled and all tuned up. The other is in the crating ready for assembly. The only trouble I had was that the front wheel hub spacer was missing. Luckily I have a CNC Mill so I just made one. Now to get them Titled, Registered, and Insured.

It's not just you Ron B, those front forks need to be lowered a bit by the looks of the front wheel/fender and headlight

Forks

The forks are set correctly. Could be I took the picture before I set everything up. It does look a bit low in this image.

Congrats! I hope the second assembly goes well.

I'd love to see pics of your mill.

Milling Machine

Here is a picture of the milling machine. It was a wise auction purchase. I am looking at getting a cnc lathe as well but i need to save up. The one i want starts at $11,500 wich is a substantial investment for a hobby.

That's very cool! Is it a five axis mill?

Mill Specs

weldandgrind,

Its a 3 axis Haas OM-2A. It has a 30000 rpm spindle, 12x10x12 travel and tops out at 400ipm feedrate. I picked it up at an auction a few years ago for 10K but it had a bad spindle. I rebuilt it myself to save some money.

I'll bet there isn't much you couldn't build with it. In fact, you could probably replicate the entire mill.
