BUYER BEWARE metricpartshq.com

Do not buy from this company!! they ripped me off bad. I did not receive the items I bought and customer service is a joke!

I sent them an email after my orders status on their site was "delivered" for a week and a half asking what was up with it. That email was ignored. I then emailed them again a couple days later and threatened I would post buyer bewares everywhere if they didn't tell me what was going on. They resonded that they would need my physical address because they would be happy to reship ups so they could track it, this is strange because my physical address is already in the account and they didn't seem to care that an order was "missing" (supposedly anyways).

after hearing nothing for a while i contacted them again asking for some proof that either order had been shipped. this email was ignored. I than threatened to block payment in the next email. They responded they sent it that day. Being extremely skeptical of what kind of business they were running I emailed them again asking for some type of proof they shipped it either time. this email was also ignored. I then sent them another threatening email because that seems to be the only kind they respond to and it was ignored. I now don't know if i will ever see a headlight for my gy-5 from them or not and don't really care at this point.

just thought I would share my experience with them so others don't make the same mistake.

Sorry to hear about your parts problem.

I went to their site and right off some red flags went off.

They have nothing listed under the "about company"
The big NO NO was the "support & contacts" all they want is YOUR info but I cant find anything that shows their physical address.

They could be anywhere or nowhere.
Any place that doesnt list their address or uses a P.O. box only is highly suspect to me.

I'd say its a bogus site or at best is being run by someone who is totally inept.
I did a "whois"search and only got this.

I'm leaning towards the "inept" since they appear to have the complete parts list with prices posted so maybe its A.L.'s attempt to set up a parts site.
But for me if its A.l. then its as bad as it gets.(my opinion)

AL removed this post from their site without any notification to me. i reposted it on there to piss them off. Odd how they claim no association between the two. BTW i have not received anything from them yet, i the case they were actually attempting to send something.

If you look at the WHOIS I put up under.
Registrant:
Domains by Proxy, Inc.

It says proxy, inc so I went there and it is a proxy service so you can hide on the net HMMMM a big NO NO in my opinion.

Also take note of this :
Domain servers in listed order:
NS1.AMERICANLIFAN.COM
NS2.AMERICANLIFAN.COM

so that was not expected by me but is interesting.

I just dont understand how someone in business can expect people to trust them if they cant even give a physical address.

I could probably dig up a lot more but after looking at the site I had seen enough.

I decided to place an order with Metric Parts HQ because I wanted some spokes to lace a 21-inch rim to my Zong's front hub. Searching the world for suitable spokes, I contacted a Zongshen dealer in South Africa; he told me I could use 21-inch, Lifan spokes. I contacted several authorized, and un-authorized Lifan dealers, trying to acquire the 21-inch, Lifan spokes; however, no one could sell them to me. :( Finally, I discovered the post on this forum concerning Metric Parts HQ. MPHQ had the Lifan spokes at a reasonable price, and was willing to see them to me, so I placed an order.

I think by now it is pretty apparent that Metric Parts HQ is affiliated with American Lifan. American Lifan has settled its lawsuit with Hooper Imports, and is now willing to sell Lifan parts to anyone who wants them through Metric Parts HQ.

http://www.hooperimports.com/

However, if you have difficulty getting parts from American Lifan, you will probably also have difficulty getting parts from Metric Parts HQ.

Well them being associated with A.L. would back up my feeling/thinking of them just being INEPT probably more from A.L.'s business procedures than anything.

I doubt I'll ever care for A.L. I think they are just sleazeballs and they'd have to do a lot to change that opinion around.(but they dont care - they're sleazeballs)

I just cant understand how a company trying to sell something can be so self destructive.

Spud,

I always like your post, but I am curious on this one. How long ago did you deal with them? Things change fast in our world!

I was one of the earliest customers for Metric Parts HQ. I placed an order with them on October 7, 2009, soon after they first appeared.

http://chinariders.net/modules.php?n...+parts++spokes

I placed only one order with this company. Since I own a Zongshen motorcycle, I probably will not place any further orders for Lifan parts. I received fast shipment, and good customer service from Metric Parts HQ. However, Wild Alaskan has had a different experience.

I used the the 21-inch, Lifan spokes I bought from Metric Parts HQ to lace a 1.85x21, Warp 9, alloy rim to my Zong's front wheel.

Well maybe this will all work out OK, but from where I sit it seems that there is a lack of good business integrity here. I am guessing that if this were an Ebay transaction things would be different. I guess if you look at your experience and the experience of the Wild_Alaskan The feed back is only 50%.

I can't speak for others, but I don't think 50 percent positive feedback is a good rating.
