Although QLINK motorcycles are made in China, that’s no reason for larger, well-known bike manufacturers to ignore the emerging brand. QLINK could one day make it to the big time!


Why did it die? Priced too high? Too similar to SSR?

Many CB's back in the day died for many reasons, mostly the importers would buy a few containers, get them through customs, sell them all and vanish. Culcune has more info on this than I.

I'm not sure why Q Link went away. They had a big setup in Texas and a nice website. I actually ordered parts off the website and they arrived, just like CSC. Then one day, POOF! Gone.

The Q Link was more expensive than the average 998.00 CB Hondoid. Mine was 1750.00, new. That's quite a bit more than a Hondoid....but they also stepped up the quality immensely.

SSR actually IS what Q Link was, just marketed by someone else now. It's why I almost pulled the trigger on the XF250 for Mrs 2LZ instead of the TT250. I know the quality will be there but the new SSR's are very expensive at a grand more than my Q Link. Also, SSR doesn't really offer any parts or support or if they do, they do a damn good job of hiding the fact. It's the main reason CSC got my sale.

So, in short, Q Link and SSR are the same bike.....just a 250 now. It's the Suzuki TU250 motor.

Q Links were and still are top-notch CB's. There's still things I like much better on my 09 Q link than on the new TT250 and it's still a better built bike, with a more modern motor, suspension and overall materials, than a Hondoid. We had a guy here last week looking for a Q Link clutch. We believe both the Suzuki 125 and 200 clutch will work. He'll be writing back when he gets it. Many Suzuki parts, including cables are the same. I've been told, and at one point had it confirmed (though I can't find that now), that Q Link was made at the same factory as the Suzuki motors they provided to Suzuki, some small Kawasaki motors and also some of the small KTM motors....so they know what they're doing.

My Q link has been nothing less than flawless and is still a great runner to this day. Even with the TT250 mods I've done, the little 200 Q may still pull it in a straight line.

The absolute upside to the Hondoid (regardless of brand), is that parts are readily available on both the internet and CSC.

Those of us who have been around a while have seen bikes like the Hawk/Storm make a huge splash (like the Q did), then 2-3 years later be gone. It happens all the time in the CB world....but again, Hondoid parts will be available somewhere.

I'd love to find a Q Link, just to have parts on hand if mine ever breaks.
That's me!!! Just finished putting my clutch in! The clutch is the same exact thing as the dr200, I just put in the ebc friction plates, metal plates, and heavy duty springs! I love my xf best 700$ I've spent by far!

hey RV I just got back from San Diego Friday night (I live in CT). I love your city. I was going to rent a bike from the Indian Dealer, you know where the jets practically land at the airport.

I couldn't get anyone to ride with me from our business conference so no seat time for me. Instead I rented a minivan so a bunch of us went to La Jolla.

I wish I could fit my Hawk in my carryon on the plane.

BTW, bike looks great! Do a little jetting and a pipe and gain 5 hp. The video I posted of Boostcrzy's dyno run shows the mods at the beginning of it. Same mods I have on my XP200. Made a big difference.

Yea, I have the stock muffler gutted, I've yet to drill holes in the air of and jet it, I just haven't had time but I heard it does a lot!

Hey RV when I was landing in San Diego I noticed every peak had some sort of dirt trail leading up to the top. Are you allowed to ride those?

I drilled some larger holes in the top of my air box prior to jetting. Works fine.
Exhaust, get one of these. Bolts right on, opens the breathing and you lose a bunch of weight. FMF Turbine Core 2 "Universal spark arrestor" it's called. About 120.00. It will be a little noisier but not to bad.
