Doh! rx3 problem

Hello friends i am writing this message in turkey. I have my 2016 model zhongsen rx3 motorcycle. Sold by mondial in my country. The ear found on the top cover of my motocross cracked. The motorcycle is leaking oil. 10 000 km. Having the same problem that a lot of motorcycle road. The master recommended welding instead of replacing parts. Aluminum is said to be more robust with welding. Do you have such a problem? If so, how did you find a solution? I use google translation. I hope I did not write wrong. Good day.

I don't know the answer. It looks cast as part of the entire engine, so welding would seem to be the only solution to the problem. Someone else will be along here to help you soon. Is the crack on the top, near the gas tank, or the bottom part, closest to the engine?

Hi ayna639,

There have been others with a similar problem but as far as I know not in the USA or UK

You can find a little about it here

As AdventureDad has already said, a bit of welding or a replacement part will be the only fix. But you might find some of the ideas in the above thread might help to stop it happening again.

Looks like the top support bolt hole for the motor, I would weld it. Should be able to handle the heat as it should be fairly thick right there.

The part on CSC's website is $160. Use the Coupon Code NEWYEAR for 20% off until the end of the year. Not sure what shipping to Turkey would be.

Alternately, if I'm reading the recommendation in Katflap's link, the fix is to remove the bolt going thru the mounting point in the cylinder head assembly. Since it's no longer weight bearing/supporting, some quick steel or jb weld epoxy could be used to fill the crack and stop the leak. Just a thought.

I've used JB Weld 2 part epoxy to fix small cracks and holes in my engine cases before. rj
