I liked them too. Belt drive? Still don't know why is not more used in Street bikes. But I guess the public didn't buy them enough.

I noticed things went downhill FAST after they switched to the Rotax engine for the final bikes buell put out. Even to this day i would like to get my hands on a Blast or a Ulysses

I've owned belt drive and they are fine. The only thing bad is you really have no or very little way to change the drive ratio. Different tooth cogs just are not available unless you modify one to fit your machine, and then you have to find a belt of the right size to match.

x2. I would love an American made retro or new-retro standard ~400 lbs with reasonable power.

For example, the Yamaha XSR700 is about perfect. It's based on the FZ-07 and if it comes to the US, it will be hard for me not to buy it. I test rode an FZ-07 and it was perfect. I just want the retro styling.

At least the Yamaha XSR900 is coming to the US. I just wanted the smaller one.

I like the XSR 900 a LOT. Having owned a Triumph triple though I'd have to wait for the upcoming 800cc Street Triple. Something magic is in those bikes!

I keep wishing they made a Tiger Sport, lighter with the 675 engine in it. Unfortunately they don't bring the Tiger Sport over here.

I still think Harley could make a cool adv bike out of the 883 sportster. A guy made one on advrider called the "dirtstir" and rode it across russia. Hydraulic valves are a selling point for me and the power is fine, I just don't like cruisers, been there got tired of scraping around everything. I think that design is the most dangerous, go into a corner to fast and you're totally screwed.

Guys, keep a eye on Victory over the next couple of years. They will be developing into a sporty brand, now that Indian has the cruiser portion covered. Just look at what they're doing with Brammo and their Pikes Peak bike.

I'm all for the return of the 70/80 UJM line of motorcycles, ranging 250~750cc, with up to date tech.
Simple but efficient and I really think a solution for commuting and on the road errands. And besides a massification of the use of motorcycles will increase population happiness levels, ha!

Turned cold here the last few days, was 18 Degrees on the ride into work yesterday, and 22 degrees today......sure glad I installed those Heated Grips!

Just wondering Huck, do you also have hand guards? If so, do they help to block the breeze? I've been considering adding them for that, but don't know if they help.

I think Hippo Hands, or a similar product will help more than handguards.

Nevertheless, handguards with large spoilers will help more than those without spoilers.

I installed Tusk D-Flex handguards on my RX3.

I can vouch for hand guards helping keep the cold air off your hands and that's one of the main reason I have them on my bikes -cold air and big bugs. rj
