I am not familiar with the bracket you speak of, but I know this fender I ordered should clear my front tire ok. The distance from the mount points to the top of the tire is actually almost the same as the cg125 with its 19 inch front wheel. The Hawk forks are basically cg125 forks that they lengthened the bottom for the larger wheel.

Here is what I bought,https://www.ebay.com/itm/165545435175
The guy has all kinds of them, and had one now for a Honda CBR, but it looks shallow https://www.ebay.com/itm/165581624782 This guy is cheap on some of his parts, and very cheap shipping. It took a while to receive mine, because it comes from Germany, but if you search his items, he had all kinds of what he list as mudguard brackets, some of which can probably be used as the makings of a fork brace. |

So, I am decided and plan to order the KPM exhaust header and mid pipe when I get home. I have a muffler in mind for it as well, but it has to be ordered separately. None of the mufflers they come with really appeal to me.

Follow up: KPM Exhaust ordered and I decided on a muffler. Total cost was more or less the same as a the typical ebay CRF exhaust system once shipping was factored in.
The header and mid pipe were 78 and change after shipping and tax. Link: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/32568...andl_shipto=US I went with this over the CG header I linked inthe second post for a couple of reasons. The biggest being that it is stainless steel instead of chromed mild steel, and while the initial total cost is higher by about double, I also get a system that is slightly larger at the head, and expands out to 51mm for the mid pipe to the muffler, which greatly opens up muffler options. It also means I don't have to mess around with adapters, having something welded, etc, that will ruin the chrome plating and likely cost more than what the difference is between the two systems. The KPM system also uses a slip joint for the mid pipe that slides over the header tube, so this buys me some room to easily adjust the system length to help match it up better to the bike. Plus, as I mentioned before, it has the O2 sensor bung in place. I may just add a wideband O2 as a permanent installation lol. It would make on the fly tuning easy as pie lol. As for the muffler. I figured I would give one of these guys a try. They have removable baffles to help tame the sound, and I think it will just look interesting. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/22518...andl_shipto=US I think my 2 hurdles to overcome with this exhaust will mainly be the central mounting tab and the muffler mount. I have an idea to use the passenger peg bracket to make a simple triangulated bracket to bolt the muffler to. My headlight already showed up. Unfortunately, everything else is probably going to take a couple of weeks to show up. In the meantime I plan to start stripping the bike down and working on some of the changes. I can remove the exhaust system, install my clutch springs I never got around to doing, remove the big oil cooler to make room for a smaller one I ordered, take the headlight and front fender off. etc. Good time to do some maintenance while I wait too, new fork oil, grease the pivots, etc.

That is a great looking muffler.
My hawk gets much less seat time since I upgraded (to an MT-09) but it is still fun to ride. No curbs can stop me! |

That slip-on has a megaphone shape. You might recover some of that nice throaty sound that a 4 stroke single makes! You know, like my clever and original forum name Especially since the headpipe is a straight pipe. It might even go lean with this change and find you can lift the needle to compensate!
I did notice that expansion into the secondary pipe. That must be a good thing for flow.

The main head pipe is slightly larger than the ebay crf exhaust most of us run (38mm vs. 35mm) and that mid pipe expansion opens it up to 51.5mm OD, which is much more significant than the crf; mid pipe, which is 38mm. The reduced number of.bends should also help a tiny bit. Overall it should really benefit my ported head and cam a little more. It is at the cost of ground clearance, sure, but I never went on anything crazier than a rough single track. Not once have I even hit my skid plate, and I don't do much off-roading anyway.

I have all of my headlight stuff in. My fender and a couple other parts were supposed to be here yesterday, but we got hit with a snow storm that shut down all of the mail services. Hopefully I get them today.
I spent part of last weekend really cleaning out, reorganizing, and sorting my garage so I have room to work and places to put things. I just need to consolidate and organize my tools and a few other things. Then I can get working on my bike.

Oh, trust me, I get that. I still enjoy a ride on the Hawk, but when you have a properly fast bike, the slow Hawk becomes more of a "for fun" thing to ride. Or, if you can find a utilitarian use for it so it can serve some sort of purpose. That is where I am at, using it as more of a city bike/commuter since my big Viffer is a tad impractical for that purpose.

I got the little fender in along with all of my headlight goodies. Still waiting for the smaller oil cooler to arrive, but that should be here by next weekend.
The fender is very thin metal. Not really surprising considering it was only $25. We are talking soup can thin, and very easily bent. A fork brace it will not be, at least not very much of one. A little disappointing, but not unexpected.

Headlight is loosely installed for now. As is the front fender.
I am waiting on a small windshield to help cover up the gauges a bit and I need to finish installing the turn signals and removing the extra wiring added for my spot lights. Windshield. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/22558...andl_shipto=US The front fender is another story. It's absolute crap, even by cheap ass chinese crap standards. The brackets are riveted on unevely front to rear AND side to side on the front, causing it to sit all sorts of crooked. I have a dispute open through ebay at the moment to either exchange this one or get sent another. You can see in this picture where somebody must have sneezed while operating the press or riveter.
