I bought a Templar Dec 22, I ride it to work every sunny day and love it. I noticed, like many, it's loaded. The 6sp counterbalanced engine is worth the $150 over the 223cc bikes. Plus knobbie tires, adjustable suspension and something interesting with the fuel tank, petcock is frame mounted. Engine runs smooth, got 75mph out of it easily and still had more till redline. They are not going to be easy to find. Completely licensable in Arizona. Getting 45 mpg on short runs(3 miles to work).. I'm happy.

That's exactly what mine says on flat ground, 73mph. Guessing maybe 3mph optimistic from reading others posts. Certainly good enough for my requirements.

Anyone tried a PWK carb instead of the normal PE?
I’m looking at the 75mm kit and 4valve head, and if I do it a new carb too.
Dimensionally it’ll fit, and the D slides seem better than the round slides for flow rates.

Xpro Templar 250

Anyone know what shocks we can upgrade the Xpro Templar. The ones currently aren’t adjustable so I’m just been searching for a fit for it.

Doh! Fyi......

Templars just got another $50 price increase. Was $1850 in the last lot (and what I paid a couple of years ago for a 5 speed, and SAME for the 6speed I sold). The new lot started at $1950, but now it is "$1999". Plus $300 shipping.

My X, bought in Feb of this year during the Valentine's sale from PSM, was $1799 before shipping. A buddy bought one last week at $1849 and it's currently sitting in KC waiting to leave for our local depot in Strafford

perspective:

Comparing Templars to even entry-level Japanese dual-sports (e.g KLX300 or CRF300), which will set you back nearly $7,000 (otd), if you can find one, ... or a suspension-adjustable enduro-style 250 cc, which will set you back $9,000 - $13,000, Templars are a $bargain$.

$50 - 100 one way or the other is 'ice cream money' !

Unless you live in oregon they will not register the templar x in oregon a was at dmv 3times the do not have a safety label

Which safety label is it missing? Mine has a lot of them. I originally started looking at Templars after a guy I know in Bend bought one. There's also a Youtuber "Oregon Trail Rider" I think who has a licensed one. Good luck.

A little adjustment to my rear brake this morning. Found that the pedal had been bent in towards the side case during shipping. Not a big deal with work boots but it made braking a bit sketchy with my MX boots.
Bent the pedal back out, just by hand, so that it clears the engine casing and then I was able to adjust the pedal height so it's level with the foot peg instead of being lower than the peg

Height adjustment is simple, remove the bolt from the spherical joint (10mm on each side), undo the locknut from the height adjusting screw as well as the one on the master cylinder above the spherical joint.
Adjust pedal height to where you want it and then turn the spherical joint so it lines up with the hole for the bolt.

Original pedal height:



Corrected pedal height


Clearance from the side case before bending the pedal arm out

Not sure it was bent. The brake pedal on Honda CR's and KTMs are tucked in real tight to avoid trapping stems between the lever and the frames while riding. But fortunately, you can bend it to virtually any position, then set the height as well with the adjuster on the piston. Totally customizable. It is rather important that you can easily press that pedal with workboots on!

It was definitely bent because it would contact the side case all the time when the height adjuster was fully loosened.
Going to take it off and bend it properly so it's not pointing outwards quite so much and follows the line of the case a bit closer at some point
