thinking of one of these 5 liter Chinese roto plax copies..

when needed..

For 35 bucks shipped I might just get one too. Would be great to mount to my rear rack for longer rides for "just in case" moments.

I took the plunge and bought one. Hope I don't regret it, ha ha.

Thanks for the link Pete.

I had one for my Hilux pickup, they work just fine. I sold it with the pickup, the new owner is still using it. So for the price is they are much better option than a metal jerry can. BUT
Be aware that the chinese don't use the same polymer as the original ones.
A few summers ago a Polaris got on fire, because the owner put one of these copies near a somewhat hot area. Plastic melt - Fuel leak -- Fire.
So don't install one of them near a hot area.

I have 1
No idea how good it is as I never carry it on the bike etc
Just use it to empty tanks while fixing stuff.
My old RX3 had the ability to mount 1 to each side case

Even original Rotopacks can break off if mounted vertical. So due to the plastic quality, I'd stick with mounting them horizontally if at all possible.
