Delivery truck question

I got to thinking today about my bike being delivered and after watching a few videos I have some concerns. How big are the trucks that normally drop these off? Some of the videos I've seen are of full size rigs. Now, I live on a rural 2 lane country road and my driveway is pretty narrow. In order to turn it it's literally a 90 degree angle with no room on either side due to ditches.

What would a guy do if they show up in one of these trucks and can't even pull in my driveway?

Have it dropped on the road ,in a trailer ,in a pick up truck ,whatever you have , then drag it up the driveway yourself .

Ok wasn't sure if they would do that. I've got a pretty heavy duty dolly. If that doesn't work I'll just get my buddy to help me drag it to my driveway.

Perhaps the driver can meet you up the road if you or a friend have a pickup and simply slide it on to the pickup?

Had a new quad delivered yesterday by Saia trucking in a tractor/trailer rig. Since my driveway is too narrow for the truck I met him at the road with my small flat bed trailer. The lift gate on the truck made loading quick and easy.

Mine was delivered in a medium duty truck (Think something along the size of a Lowe's or furniture delivery truck, or a step up for a UPS/FedEx truck). In my thread in Pit Bikes/Scooters, you may be able to make out the width of my driveway, the driver had zero issues backing in to my driveway, which also has a 90* a quarter of the way down it, and another 90 the other direction at the half way point. The road to my house is a rural 1.5 lane road as well.

I don't think you'll have any problem with having it delivered directly to the house/garage.

That's good to hear. My driveway is very similar to yours. This whole time I've been thinking that's the kind of truck they would use and then I started seeing all these videos of rigs pulling up to peoples houses. My delivery tracking says that residential takes a little longer, so maybe that's so they can switch it over to another truck? That's just a guess, I know nothing about trucking logistics, etc.

I might call up the shipping company and see what they say just for peace of mind.

I would call them just to give them a heads up about your driveway.

A small Uhaul box truck can barely get into my neighborhood. A rig, forget about it.

We get large deliveries at work often. I usually have the truck wait on the road and back a pickup up to it and slide them in the back. Then the item can be offloaded from the pickup into the shop.

Saves the driver from having to do any backing or trying to turn around in the yard.

It's coming in a semi. After getting passed around for awhile they said i could meet him out or he can stop in the road. I think ill opt for meeting him out if i can arrange a buddy to bring his truck.

Thats the thing, it is the vader!! When they call to make the appointment im going to see if it can come in a box truck. If not they are going to have to stop.on the road and roll it to my garage. I have no means to pick it up and they have been paid for residental delivery.
