Coming To A Garage Near Me

Mrs. C has put the kibosh on anymore powered two wheeled toys.

She never said anything about four wheels. So................

Not that one, that belongs to someone else. But yeah, a Fiat 124 Spider. Red. Stored indoors for the last ten years. And Mrs. C approves. Heck, she suggested it.

I don't know the year, neither does the seller, she just wants it out of her garage. Honestly, about all I know is that it has four flat tires and covered with a ten year accumulation of dust. Mrs. C saw more of it than I did and all I got out of her was, "I dunno". If it has one of the two manual transmissions, Mrs. C has agreed to finally to learn how to use her left foot. If it has the GM auto, I'll never get to drive it.

Anywho, I was told that the selling price was whatever it cost me to get it from sellers place to mine.As we are less than 2 miles apart and there is a U-Haul dealer in town, maybe $50. If the flat bed trailer is at the shop and not in central Illannoy, free.

I'm budgeting around $1500 to get it on the road again. Tires will be $200, a gas tank, if needed is $150. Belts, hoses, brakes, fluids, around $300. The other $850 is because I already know that the Brits taught the Italians everything they knew about building cars.

Will keep you posted.

Great car and good luck but sounds likes theres a lot of 'ifs' and 'maybes' in this deal. I would love to have a garage and a car like that to work on.

I need more deals like that to fall in my lap.

Sweet car! At least you won't be dealing with Lucas, the Prince of Darkness.

There is no money changing hands between the seller, or giver, as it were, and me. So, no hard feelings if I tow it directly to the junkyard.

If you have a garage and you don't stay on top of things, or keep your other half from thinking it's HER storage unit, they fill up quite easily. I have just started on my fourth 35 gallon trash can after this last lapse. I also never need to by another screw driver because I found them all.

Weld-Not Lucas, but his cousin Luigi Fiamme, the Prince of Dimness.
I understand that Luigi kinda sorta skipped on using headlight relays in the 124. Looks like the only place he used them is the horn and, if this car is injected, the fuel pump. I'll remedy that little faux pas.

I wouldn't go that far but the Mazda 1.8L V6 has some merit.

Oh boy, the first snag has reared it's ugly head.

The little Fiat is owned by two sisters. Sister one, who has the car in her garage wants it gone. Sister two says the car is a 'major collectable' and wants mucho monies for it.

Time to break out the popcorn. Extra butter please.

There has been some movement. I don't quite know how to read it but lets just say I don't ever want to piss off the woman who has had the Fiat parked in her garage for the past ten years. Basically told her sister, A)Pay me for the ten years of storage; or B)Get the car out of my garage and find somewhere else to store it; or C)Sign the damn title.

Time for another bowl of popcorn.
