windshield

I removed the windshield, and when I went to re-install the windshield I find that I can't access the two inside lower bolts.

How do you hold the nuts in place so that you can screw the bolt into them.?

Thanks

I used long needle nosed pliers and have also tried a wrench with a piece of tape told the nut in position. The pliers worked better for me.

I held them with the closed end of a combo wrench. It took some finesse, but it worked.

Take off the headlight, it's only 2 easy to get too bolts, then the windshield is easy

X2; removing the headlight first makes the job easy.

Once you know how to access the bolts that seem "impossible" to get to, this is a very easy and fun bike to work on.

Thanks for all the assistance. I found removing the headlight is the fastest and easiest way to access the windshield bolts.

I didn't want to mess around with removing too many parts when I attached the windshield so I used some grease to stick the attaching nut to my finger which I carefully slid into the tight spots. It took a few tries for the threads to catch, and my wife doesn't approve of my language now. I will try the headlight removal approach next time.

Trust me. Removing the headlight turns an exasperating job into a simple task.

I replaced the headlight switch, installed the driving lights and some LED turn signal indicators yesterday (need to post pics) but with Nixon riding point, he's in the way of removing the headlight, have to remove windshield first... oh well, good friends are sometimes a pain in butt but that's what good friends are for...
