Any reason for paying extra coin and using "premium" fuel?
Just asking because I know most "Owners manuals" state the wrong fuel grade (AKI vs RON fuel octane ratings)... and I doubt that a low strung, carb'd, push rod motor, with around 9 to 1 compression ratio will ping or knock even on the cheapo 87 gas (or even as low as 85 octane if you live over 5,000 feet above sea level). I usually run our little Bashan 200 on 85 octane (6,000+ feet) and have yet to hear it ping or knock under any load I put it under
