Hawk 250cc starter problems

I finally charged the battery today, but the starter does not seem to work? Basically, I press the yellow button and it won't engage, does someone know if i forgot something?

Key, neutral safety, clutch safety, brake safety, kick stand safety, kill switch?

Did you get it started yet?

My bike has a brake safety. Starter will not engage unless the hand brake or the foot brake is engaged.

I tried all of them out. However, the starter will still not engage? Pherhaps, i might have to just measure the contacts and see if any volts are going through?

You should also be able to 'jump' the starter just to rule out a failed/broken starter motor.

I don't know your experience with motorcycles so I'm going to ask are you sure the red kill switch is in the right position. Also are you sure the battery is charged. On a side note can you kick start it. And check to make sure the spark plug boot is on solid. Also check the conection at the button to make sure it is solid.

I have a Hawk that does not like to start when warm. I find a combination of clutch, wiggle gear shifter and start button generally works. Just make sure you can jump the starter first.

did it start before the battery died? how long was the battery dead?

first thing i would do try jump starting it. a failed battery can show an ok voltage but have the voltage plummet as soon as a load is applied.
