RAM X-Grip Phone Mount behind windscreen

When I farkled up the bike I installed an X-Grip phone older on my handlebars but I didn't like where it was positioned as it made it a bit hard to see the dashboard of the bike, it was low so I had to really look down to see the GPS and it would hit my tank bag when turning sharp. So I decided to do something about it. I have seen lots of other bike that have a bar behind the windscreen for people to mount GPSs but I don't have the tools to made such an adapter so instead I decided to purchase a RAM Mount Motorcycle Base and connect it to the upper left nut/bolt of the windscreen mount and then connect my X-Grip to it with the standard base arm. It's perfect as I can see it without really looking down, doesn't affect the dash, not in the way of anything other then when standing it cuts off part of the RPM gauge but I don't care about that, I don't look at it when I'm standing!

Here is the parts list:
RAM-HOL-UN10BU - X-Grip for larger phones
RAM-B-201U - Standard Length Double Socket Arm
RAM-B-272U - Angled Base
Nylon Bushing - 9mm od / 6mm id - Same thickness as base
Reused all other hardware.
Locktite on nut/bolt

I find it's better for me to keep my GPS turned off until I am lost...

Otherwise, I spend too much time looking at it, instead of the road.

That really is ideal place for all RX3's as fair as I can tell from your pics. High and front and center . How is the stability. Ever get the sense of losing your phone especially during rough terrain?

With the fairing I have at the top the whole front light/dash/windscreen assembly does move more than when I didn't have it but that X-Grip holds the phone tight. It came with a rubber "thingy" to also hold the edges of the phone but I never use it. And as you've seen from some of my videos I have gone over some really tough terrain and some pretty good crashes and they phone has NEVER moved. Much better position for me as I don't have to look down and away from the road to see the GPS. With my ADV helmet having a lower face piece like a MX helmet I had to really move my head down to see the phone on the bar and then the visor on the helmet would block the road. Dangerous. This is much better!

If one doesn't have a destination or schedule, they can't really get lost.
