tail light bulb?

Hi,

I ordered a new RX3 yesterday! Woo hoo! While I wait for it I bought a few items for it and another bike I own. One being a LED tail light. What's the correct number for the RX3? I read about different lights, but not the particular number (1057, 1157, 3057?).

Thanks for any help.

The RX3 already has an LED tail/stop light.

Thanks... I had read somewhere the brake and tail lights were hard to tell the difference. I bought a 'super bright' set for a different bike, but was wondering if the one I didn't use would fit.

Any idea what the bulb number is?

As JB said, it's an LED assembly. The part number for the assembly is Z38-100.

Thanks! I'm in Vermont, and I know of one other RX3 rider up here. The forum has been great, and actually help me decide on this... even after watching 'unfavorable' youtube videos.

I put on a Hyperlite kit to supplement the rear light. Works great!

There aren't many unfavorable ones...and you'll see the bikes are now in Russia, South America, Indonesia and many other places. Some of those videos are really interesting

That's what I found. A few were obviously biased or unrealistic in their comparisons. That, and the closest thing I could find was a 3 year old vstrom for $6500+ (including damage). I realize it's apples to oranges, but I just don't see a need to blow that much for what I'm looking to do. Besides, I'll be the first on the block to have a Zongshen (it helps being basically the only one on my block ;-) )

I'll just have to see the tail light when my bike gets here. It's probably fine, but I like the idea of ignorant drivers having a little more 'notice' of my presence.

The tail light is bright enough, IMO:

If you need more, I'll add to FJ's recommendation of Hyperlites.

I've had a set for 10+ years that I change from bike to bike...still works great...and the multiple flashes help wake up the distracted drivers.

That does look bright... Is it much different from the brake light?

I got the super bright LED in my other bike... Definitely made a difference over the incandescent bulb.

My "complaint" about the tail/brake light is that they both use the same LEDs, so the pattern is the same. I would like the pattern to change, as well as the intensity, when you apply the brakes.

My solution: VoloLight. it is a license plate frame with bright, flashing, brake lights. But they are not activated by your brakes like the Hyperlites. Instead, they have an accelerometer which flashes the lights when you let off on the gas, and if you slow more rapidly, like applying the brakes medium or hard, they will flash faster.
