Coolster 3150 DX-2 with a few new updates

Just had a new Coolster 3150(150cc) DX-2 delivered. This is the third one I have purchased. Two for myself and one for my brother. I was pleasantly suprised to see that a few things have been changed on this latest atv. First off..the first two Coolsters I ordered had knobby type tires on the rear which were worthless in mud. So I had to upgrade the tires on both those ATV's to a CST mud tire. However..the latest Coolster that was just delivered already has a "V" type directional rear mud tire instead of the knobby like the first two. This is a huge improvement in my book.

This latest ATV also came with a regular style motorcycle battery that you would expect to see in an ATV and not the general purpose 12v battery that came with the first two ATV's.
A couple nice improvements in my book.

This particular Coolster I ordered from Killer Motorsports. Took right around 10 days to get it and other then a few minor scratches..it came well packaged like the first two I ordered. This one is for my wife or two daughters to putt around on. Should serve them well.

How does the 150cc do with a full grown person on it? I'm about 250 lbs so I'm thinking a 150 would be to small for me. Ether being slow or under powered for my size.

I'm gonna guess a 150 is gonna fall a little short of your expectations judging by your size and my past experience... but then again, I ride an XR600 so everything seems underpowered.

I hear you. I'm thinking around a 250cc or bigger. I'm up to a 1900 motorcycle now so yeah everything seems small. I am impressed with what the little bike for the kids can do with me on it. However above 20mph it gets a little scary from the wash in the front end.

Seems like what I should have had all along. I started on a 750 went to a 1100 now the 1900. Each one felt like enough till I went to the next.

ckangaroo70, what type of rack bags are those and how do you like them? Easy on/off? Enough room? I have been searching for a couple.

I am 6'2" and 240lbs. Pulls me around fine. Not really sure what type of riding you do, but I ride about 20 miles of trails with several big Honda, Polaris and Yamaha ATV's and have never had any problems riding right along up some fairly steep grades...some sloppy trails, etc. Of course..the hills are not real extreme and we are not submerging the atv's in mud/water. I guess my best answer would be that it does do much better then I would have ever guessed they would before I purchased one. My brother weighs around 275 lbs and has never had any issues getting where he wants to go either. Where you want to go may be much different though.

Yea..you are correct. They are actually a pretty nice bag "for a freebie" that comes included with the ATV. Hold a heck of alot of squirrels.LOL

Yea... I feel like this little 200cc I found could be a bit of fun... i've never been a big quad fan nor have I ever owned one (lots of bikes though)... I always wreck or crash every time I get on one but it's cuz i'm so used to bikes I always put a leg down and get run over or flip it.

Thanks for the insight. I just want something to get from A to B here on our place. I have 20 acres & there is only one hill but it's step. When it gets to dry & powdery my Tracker has a hard time. However I'd also like for it to do 45 mph in the rear occasion I get out on the road. I grew up on a 250 Fourtrx that was about right for all my riding. I had a 700 Maxfine that did pretty good also. The 700 was a little bulky for my taste tho. I'd probably take the Tracker before I took a 700 out around here.

Havnt run this new machine much but my personal Coolster 150 will run 40mph easy enough and possibly faster if I wasnt scared of over revving it. My personal machine has been rejetted, has no rev limit cdi and a hotter coil, but my guess is that 40 would be about max on the stock machine.
