I got a question for you guys ,my buddy and I were wondering if we can use a radio to control an electric trolling motor on an aluminum boat at my camp ,it needs to travel approximately 250 feet dock to dock hauling materials .We figured one of us could load the boat ,while the other could unload it on the other side .We do have a trolling motor with an electric steering system although we no longer have the actual foot pedal .We have lots of 12 volt power if needed .

well i am at it again....LOL the on road car got old quick... my street is narrow, my driveway is gravel... so aside from driving 30 min to a mall parking lot there really isnt anywhere to run the on road car... so, few weeks ago, i picked up a basket case old nitro evader (i still have my electric evader, so i have some spare parts...LOL) and dropped the wheels from the electric on the nitro, sourced a tank, and swapped the rear shocks over to the nitro...also pulled the SH18 out of the RS4 since this ones sleeve and piston are beyond shot...plating is flaking of the sleeve its so bad...LOL

I got my first at age 14, a little Nikko buggy that was so much fun other than it's ravenous consumption of AA batteries. Then I quickly progressed to a completely wore out Pegasus buggy I bought from the local pawnshop.
And then a few years later got the Lunch Box monster van, my first one I had to assemble. That thing was silly fun and very all terrain. But I modded it to the point it was uncontrollable, so I stretched and lowered it, and put smaller wheels and street tires with a vette body on it. That began the silly hobby and I've bought several since then.

And don't believe for a second the combustion powered RCs are the only ones that are money pits. My last 2 are electric and very expensive. I turned my Traxxas Stampede into a stadium truck for the low low price of $2500 (would've been more cost effective to just buy a stadium truck), and I've got $1500 in my Axial crawler.
My latest acquisition is a low dollar 4x4 that's very similar to the stock Stampede, right down to the tires and wheels. But hopefully I can refrain from spending money on it.. I'll reveal it in a couple of days so stay tuned.

i was second fastest on the track every single race... only one i couldnt beat was the track owners son... however, combustion powered ones seem to eat larger chunks at once... want to run for a day? $35 gallon of fuel... a $35 battery pack lasts a year or 2 of running...LOL |

Ehh.. I don't care for the gas powered just because of starting issues and buying fuel. But buy you a top of the line brushless, 2 Lipo 3S batteries and a nice charger and you've spent quite a bit of money, nevermind upgrading radios, servos, axles, shocks, tires and wheels etc. It gets expensive in a hurry.

Yeah but there's nothing like the sound and smell of a nitro burner that puts that grin on your face. I need to get some fresh fuel and take the two I go out for some exercise. They've been picked up too long. lol

I had a duratrax evader with a castle sidewinder combo, would do mid 60's until the diff would grenade. I still have a slash 4x4 with an 1/8 scale power system, slash 2wd with a castle system, baja 1/5 scale buggy and a losi nitro truggy. Also have a 250 and 450 quadcopter and a few planes left that i never get to fly. I need all new batteries, maybe this spring i'll get some, daughter wants to see them run.

The slash 4x4 was a much stronger platform for doing stupid stuff, handles 4s+ with no issue and the 4wd allows you to actually get some power to the ground. When i first got the slash 4x4 i jumped it over a buddy's garage. Of course he only recorded the warmup attempt and missed me clearing it. Another buddy with a brushless revo put it though his window trying the same jump lol.
