tree fell on the trunk

just got back from a few days on the sunshine coast.

up there we had a cyclone called oswald come through and in it s wake, after a fair bit of rain, a medium size tree fell on the rear of my ford coupe parked at the place where we were staying. two guys could lift it off and now i have three mean dents on the rear fins. but the damage is contained and i m insured, so there s hope.

anyway, driving home a few hours ago i noticed the steering being really out of whack, pulling heavily towards the left, bearings screaming in tight turns. the front end obviously got affected by the blow, but i can t picture just how the force from the rear would travel to the front. the rear 9 inch diff, wheels, brakes, heavy duty suspension seem perfectly normal.

of course i ll have it checked a.s.a.p. but i m a bit anxious.
