1976 Honda CB750 Spotted!

On Friday I was fuelling my Zong before a ride, and I spotted this 1976 Honda CB750 leaving the pumps. I stopped the owner and chatted with him for a few minutes. He found the bike in a barn, and restored it to its former glory.

The owner said he found the bike stashed in a barn with 4,000 miles on the odometer. My first bike was a 1979 Honda CB400T. Looking at this superbly restored bike brought back many fond memories of the old Honda motorcycles.

He did a nice job, but I wouldn't have been able to resist the temptation to create a cafe bike.

I spotted an orange Zong in the pics. Now, that's a nice bike!

I think there was a twin and a 4 cylinder . My first "real" street bike that I rode legally was a mid 70's CB450 Custom in kind of a burnt orange color with a Vetter fairing... It was a twin

The old girl vibrated like crazy but it never ever let me down, even though it was pretty beat when I got it. Took my bike license on that machine, good times!

A 1979 CB400T was my first motorcycle. It was an inline, twin cylinder bike with dual carburetors. It had a top speed of about 95 mph, wound out in high gear, heading slightly downhill, at sea level, with a tailwind. I loved that bike.

Awesome bikes the old Hondas! As they say, you meet the nicest people on a Honda (or a chinabike)

The usual CB 400's that we see or twins. There was a see CB 400 super sport which was a four cylinder, and highly coveted. I passed on one for $2000 once, and I am still kicking myself!

During my daily craigslist shopping, I come across many CB 750s, however rarely one that pristine. And sorry Weld, if I ever got my hands on one of those, it would definitely stay stock LOL.

That's the bike that was the final nail in the coffin for the British motorcycle industry.

Thank you, Doc. With over 56,000 miles on the odometer, the Zong is still running strong.
