Thanks for the props David..... you don't have to use a lathe to do it... just cut a mallet in half and drill a hole in it.

Haven't had any winch issues since installing it... since switched to rope from cable. Good stuff and no wire digging in my hands. My buddy has been enjoying his half of the mallet.

Another nice benefit of this mod is you don't get the hook banging the front of the ATV

That mallet idea is pretty sweet,I think I’m gonna do it to keep the noise down at least. Thanks both Darth and David.

http://chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=16553&page=4 Started on pg4 some addition winch stuff on pg5

If you don't have a welder you can probably do it with some larger angle iron and bolt the winch mount plate directly to the angle iron.

I just mounted mine with u bolts for now, worked in the snow playing with it but not really stuck or haven’t really stressed it yet but works for now,the angle iron looks way more secure for a stressful situation though.I plan to do it in spring when it’s warmer I can go to my buddy’s garage when he’s working on his go carts, then he’ll have his welding stuff out🤔
