CSC's new skidplate

Check out the new skidplate from CSC!

I like it a lot, but I don't have a grinder. Would a dremel with a cutting wheel work?

Sure. It would just take a little longer. In fact, it might even work better. I was getting a little nervous watching Gerry work that big grinder. I was afraid he might touch another part of the bike with the other side of the grinding wheel. He didn't. But the point is a smaller tool would probably work better.

I think a hacksaw would work better than dremel tool. You would be cutting a long time with a dremel tool, and you would probably use up a few of those expensive cutting discs.

As for me, I love my 4-1/2 inch, Harbor Freight angle grinder.

I do very little offroading, but the new skid plate is a very attractive and substantial looking piece. After reading the installation instructions, I'm hesitant to buy, as the plate would need to be removed at each oil change and that appears to be a pita.

Is it confirmed that one needs to remove the new skidplate in order to change the oil? It looks like if drain holes were drilled it might still be possible.

George (my WAAR buddy) and Paisley...good points and thanks for posting them. You do not have to remove the new skidplate nor do you need to drill access holes. If anything, access to the drain plugs, the screen plugs, and the oil filter cover is improved with the new billet skidplate. Please see http://californiascooterco.com/blog/?p=18144.

Again, thanks for your comments.

Well, I ordered the skid plate. This is going to be awesome! And I guess I'm getting a grinder too

As am I, George. It was fun traveling with you. It's not every day you find a parade waiting for your arrival.

Didn't you know? That is a standard welcome in Idaho. We are friendly people.
