Ssr xf250

Nice! What dealership did you buy her from? Or did you mail order? The stickers aren't horrible, but do make the bike look kind of toy-like. Removing them was definitely an improvement!!

Sweeeeeeet ride. I was at JP Motorsports and saw a SR250, those things are hefty bikes. Please let us know how it performs!

PS: How did you go about removing the stickers.

I got the XF250 from my "local" dealer in Sacramento, about an hour drive from me.

Taking the stickers off was easy, they hadn't been on the bike very long and I was able to just use my fingernails to get them started and pulled, I pulled them off and then put them on a large sheet of wax paper, not sure why I'm saving them, but I will let them gather dust for a few months...

It is geared to go distance, 15T front / 43 rear, for the fire roads and trails I usually ride a 14 / 48 combo would work better.

Pulled the seat and plastics off to see what I was working with...






I also pulled off the kick-stand kill switch and the passenger pegs.
The kill switch was two screws and a couple tie wraps, wrapped up the quick connect and ran the ends back under the seat.

Do you plan to keep the DS tires, or go for the supermoto look?

I have always liked the TW200 because of the big fat tire. I would get one of these for that exact reason. I like the Qlink with the motard look, and never liked the dual sport Qlink look, but as close to the Qlink as these are, they look, to me, far nicer with these aggressive knobbies.

so a couple mods, I un-Californicated the XF by removing the EGR set up
and blocking off the exhaust as well as removing the evap canister.
The box on top is the stock tool tube.

So I used a piece of 1/4" stock metal and doubled up some
gasket material.
After some more test rides to make sure I have it all dialed in I will clean up the EGR Block and come up with some way to camouflage.

I'm sure that if someone from the government takes a look
I'll catch hell...

Another upgrade, I removed the stock tool tube under the left rear
and replaced it with a 14" welding rod tube from Fastenal
(they have a local store in my town) the tubes run about $15
and is big enough to hold a tube of slime, tire irons, and other tools.
It also matches the exhaust and give the look of dual pipes.

A few more upgrades, added Rox 2" risers


and Tusk D-Flex Handguards with Turn Signals, haven't wired in the turn signals yet, but should be an easy enough...

I appreciated your terminology.

Maybe you could just buy a non-Cali exhaust header, so it doesn't draw attention. Taobao is your friend. Another possibility is a stainless aftermarket header, but that might get looks from smog cops.

I like the signals built into the hand guards.

I like the manual canister, is it big enough to hold a bottle of Slime?
I've used the welding rod holder and turn signals on previous bikes and really like both, and it's always good to have some extra fuel. I have several of the MSR bottles
