Confused on handlebar / grip sizes

Anyone know what the handlebar measurements are for the Hawk? When I measure the OD of the tube I got 2 7/8. When I went to local bike shop to look at grips, I told him 2 7/8. He said those are some big bars. He then gave me the number of a bike shop in PDX that specializes in Chinese bike parts. He asked about the Hawk and seemed impressed with what it is for the what I paid for it. This is a KTM dealer, he is the son of the owner, so doubt he will be switching from KTM. He was very helpful though. Haha!

Most handlebars measure 7/8" or 1" OD where the grips mount.
Almost a 3" OD would be a "hand full"!

Thanks! I was measuring further down the bar. I was able to pull the clutch side grip off fairly easy, measured it, found it's an inch. Sadly I bought some sweet Scotts last week, but they are 7/8'. At least they were nit expensive.

I'm pretty certain your bars are 7/8". Expect the grips to be a tight fit.

Yep, I'm dumb. Haha! I was measuring the circumference not diameter. They are 7/8" Going to put the Scotts on tomorrow. Haha!
