GIO 110 motor...

So i now have this new GIO 110 motor eletric start no gears..
my question is .. who makes them...
All it has is GIO on the side covers... even the guy that gave
it to me knows nothing about it.. he bought it for one of those
projects that never happened...

just so happens i have a Dilini 90 3/4 size quad with no motor..
i have a 24mm carb / manifold i bought for the boys 125 pitbike
but never got it on before some brain dead ass hole stole it...

so what are these motor.... i need to find some electrics for it
CDI / coil etc...
try and get some pics of it up 2morrow...

Like I need another project.......

It's a zongshen ,all Gio bikes have them is what I have been told .I have a few of those engines here cut out of quads with the wiring harness intact if you want some wiring info .

Does the motor actually say Gio on it? I thought that was a Canadian-only name.

The tape is still on the intake hole! I bet it'll turn over like new. I recommend that you drain the fish oil out first.

motor

the motor is the same as the LONCIN .. LIFAN... AND ZONGSHEN and there is another one .. that this is ,, but I forget,, it is what TAOTAO and GIO and ZSTAR AND many more us.. the number 4 engine in China... TIAHOUZ or something like that... the first is the best... they make motors for HARLEY DAVIDSON .. they told them the quality they want and they make it.. all parts for them are the same. I am puzzle by yhe GIO being there... as they were for export to CANADA as you say..

Gio used to be a big eBay seller ,and they used to sell complete engines on eBay and even had their own funny auction site .I bet Petes friend just ordered it from Canada .I have won quite a few Gio auctions for one U.S. Penny ,for complete brand new bikes ,and a few hundred shipping of course .

The gear box part or what ever is in there turns... spin the
sprocket by hand..... Sat it in the quad... made some cardboard
pattens of the rear mounting plates... tomorrows job at work
have a few sheets of 6mm alloy....
BUT the quad has a right side chain.... guess I will need to put
a counter shaft in to move the drive from left to the right side...
theres more than enough room to do it... make the rear mounting
plates big enough to hold 20mm bearings & put the shaft though them...

So are these GIO motors ok....

There is writing on the left side, under the sprocket. You can see a bit of it in the first picture. You should be able to tell the manufacturer from that.

Pete ,any chance you could just flip the entire rear axle over to switch the drive side to the left ?I have done that for years when repowering old European mx bikes .

Those engines are good ,but with the full auto set up they top out around 25 mph in a Honda mini trail ,they really are not speed demons at all and they are pretty wide .Also ,electric start only so you have to have a good battery system and you cannot push start them either .

Drive chain

HELLO .. not sure on your setup ,.. but if you have a gear drive on the right side.. and a brake calipher on the left... check the splines on the axle and the other parts and just switch the gear and rotor... I think the spline size is the same... am I understanding you right>>???
