That Rae-San option sounds good. Do like I do with Lifanda, and carry a spare China CDI in your pocket. Ready for adventure.

First I've heard of the Rae-San kit. Sounds like a better system than the Ignitech. Too bad the transistorized ignition from the GL won't fit the CX, it's a good system.

I'll probably spring for the Rae-San Hall Effect Unit.

The thought of dropping the engine for the third time in four years isn't too appealing but this time I'd only need exhaust gaskets for a couple of bucks and a timing cover gasket, which I can make, as additional parts. Also, if I start the job at 6am, I'd could probably be riding to lunch.

I can probably just leave the bike parked at the shop and do it there on a Saturday instead of trailering it home. Just need to bring my bike jack along for dropping the engine.

Rae-San shipping on Wednesday. Was beginning to think I would miss the rest of the season.

Since it's coming from Australia ,are you going to have to install it upside down ?

Dunno. Last time I was there the beer went down normally and that's all that mattered.

Well, the Rae-San shipped last Thursday.

It arrived at the Chicago International Shipping Center Wednesday. From there, it's a crapshoot on when I will see it. It could be tomorrow, it could be November.

Finally got the Rae-San Unit today, no thanks to the USPS. I tracked it Sunday and it said delivery was attempted at 3:48 pm on Saturday. Wait...what?

I was out front all day. No one showed up around then. Also stated that a delivery attempt notice was on the front door. Uh-uh, no notice on the door.

Anyway, I filled out the Redelivery Form and checked the box the said I would pick it up today.

I got to the post office around five to pick it up. No package to be found. The guy I usually deal with is as confused as I am so he gets the post master and I give him the Aussie tracking number. He looks it up and looks back at me sheepishly, saying it had already been delivered.

So, I leave for home and there it is in the mailbox. No pics at this time because I just put it in the Ural trunk to take to the shop in the morning.

I'm traveling Wednesday through Friday so I probably won't get to it until at least Sunday. I'll have my Go Fast(er) bike back soon.
