Dyna Beads
I had a co-worker recommend using Dyna beads to balance my new Shinko 244s. He has been riding enduros, dirt bikes and dual sport motorcycles for a long time. I did some research on line and watched a lot of videos on YouTube.
In the end, it was less than $20, so I thought I would give them a try. I put 2 ounces in the front and 3 ounces in the rear. Before installing the beads, I thought I had a minor vibration in the front tire. After installing the beads, I didn’t feel any vibration. Don’t get me wrong, this could all be in my head. Has anyone else tried them? Live to Ride, Ride to Work!

Yes I have used them. They work. Also allot of big lifted trucks with huge tires have a hard time balancing that big rubber so they throw in a few hand fills of golf balls.

Yep. I use them in both of my bikes. Even if my balancing stand says that I managed to get the static balance perfect on a wheel I will still toss in 1oz.
The nice thing about them is that they are re-useable. Just don't forget to rescue them from the tube when you change the tire and tube out lol.

Is it April1? Is there a conspiracy to punk Pistol Class? This is like an alternate universe.... I have never heard of these things. When I was a teenager I worked pumping gas at a gas station and every once in a while mounted tire, I never ever ran across these in a tire. I would be afraid of golf balls damaging my TPS. Honestly though the ride in my dodge 2500 sucks and it was a pain to balance them......hmmmm FORE!!!!!!!!

The same idea has been used in washing machines for 50+ years but they use a sealed ring partially filled with water.

Ya, I've had good results using beads in bike tires and thought I did when I had a lifted Dodge diesel truck (pretty hard to detect improvements in that monster).
I've seen people use regular old Daisy BB's for the same thing and with lead ones one ounce was usually plenty in bike tires. |

I would stick to ceramic or plastic beads in a tubed tire myself.

The bb’s grind them selves to dust. Dyna beads are porcelain

My Dyna beads were tungsten. They didn't work for me and here is why. The compressor I was using didn't have a water separator on it. So all the moisture in the air was being pushed into the tubes. I live in a humid area. The moister in the tubes was causing the Dyna beads to clump together and flop around in the tube instead of rolling with the tire. I went back to spoke clamp on weights. I don't mind spending an extra 15 to 20 minutes to static balance my wheelset for my bike.
