Battery life?

my 2nd battery just died on the TBR7, I've only had the bike 9 months. What kind of life are you guys getting from yours?

Could there be something wrong with the alternator charging too high or is it just crappy chinese batteries like everything else?

These bikes don't have the strongest charging systems to begin with, but you should be able to get at least 2 or 3 years from a typical small powersport battery that these bikes run off of. I have had my Moose Racing battery for 2 years now, still going strong.

If you think you aren't charging, a simple multimeter voltage test on the terminals will tell you what you need to know. My Hawk produces 12.8V at idle (1500rpm), and 14.1V at 50000rpm. As long as you are seeing near 13v and higher, your charging system likely isn't the issue.

It could be that the regulator is letting AC voltage through, too. That could kill a battery pretty quick.
