Oil filter for Zong?

Is it the same as a TW200? Any good onlline sources?

have you tried "cycle gear" ?

I've been getting my 450X filters there cheaper than anywhere else

Yes, the Zong oil filter is exactly the same oil filter employed by the Yamaha TW200, TW125, XT125, XT225, XT350, et cetera. Besides Yamaha, a number of aftermarket suppliers also manufacture this oil filter.

You can purchase this oil filter from Phil, Zongshen America, eBay, and most online motorcycle supply stores. Most vendors charge the same amount for this oil filter; therefore, I suggest you buy this filter as part of another purchase, and save on the shipping charges.

This oil filter is designed to be cleaned, and reused many times. Therefore, you don't need to be in any particular rush to get a spare one.

Cleaned? I just assumed it was a paper unit like Q. So I don't need a new one, just run the old one through solvent?

The Yamaha/Zong oil filter has a metal filter screen; it is designed to be cleaned, and reused.

I usually clean my oil filter by spraying WD40 from the inside of the filter, outward.

However, there is probably a better way to clean the filter; do you have any suggestions? I am always looking for new tips to make life easier!

Maybe using a match to bend the tip of an applicator straw 90 degrees and get it from the inside that way? I'm thinking of brake or carb cleaner though. Much more pressure than WD, much stronger slovent, and no residual to get on the clutch or into the motor. Watch your eyes! 8)

Hey doc, just clean and reuse your filter. The last time I changed the oil, I replaced it with the good Yamaha TW200 oil filter from the local Yama dealer. It is all metal, will last along time.

BTW, After I cleaned the bike up and compounded the damaged areas I decided the damage was mild enough to not be worth fixing, but now that I hear from you again...

How's snowboarding season going for you?
