smog blockoff plate for cg250 emissions plug

Where can I get a plate to cover the hole where the emissions control system comes off the cylinder head? Apparently it's a thing u can get for bikes but idk where to get one for a cg250 engine.

I don't think you will find one. Most on here just fabricate one out of steel or aluminum.

I made mine out of a piece of the crate the bike came in.

I used a rubber cap you can find them at the auto parts store.

It looks similar. I have a piece of hose with a bolt in one end that's hose clamped on to it but it looks like shit. I don't wanna jury rig it.

That's alot of money for something you can make for free,,,,just trace the plate you took off including the bolt holes,, transfer that to a piece of metal. An cut it out .

You only need a very small piece ,,guarantee if you trace it on to paper an show it to a garage or welding or machine shop ,,, they will probably give you a small scrap piece,,

I also took a tie wrap and used it to tighten it down a clamp would also work.

I know this is an old thread but I was searching for a plate too. I would suggest that if you use a vacuum cap you also shove some folded up/rolled up aluminum foil down into the "J-shaped" pipe before putting the cap on it. I would imagine hot exhaust will eventually melt or ruin the rubber...

Just curious what the advantage is to removing the whole assembly and blocking it off? Does it hurt anything to keep it connected?

Its worth removing if you change the exhaust or decat the factory system. Unless you like hearing pops, bangs, and spitting flames and burning out any muffler packing hou might have.
