Should I be receiving a title(pink slip)?

Hi, I just bought a Taotao Hellcat from Powersportsmax. I live in calif. so I picked it up and they issued me my temporary dmv registration and said I should be getting my registration and plates in the mail in a few weeks. But what about the title? Should that be coming to me as well or does it take further action? i didnt think to ask when I picked it up. Sorry if this has already been discussed in this thread but there is a lot to go through.

With a hawk being street legal, they issue a MCO (Manufacturer's Certificiate of Origin). when filled out and notarized properly, it's good to get the title by going to DMV. It's only filled out and sent if requested and costs a few bucks extra. Best bet would be to contact PSM and ask them for an MCO. that can be used as a title and transferred to the next person. I've never dealt with dirtbikes though, and my first was a 125 which I did not receive anything but a bill of sale. given that it's never going to be street legal, that's good enough for me.

Scott, it looks like they processed all you paper work for you so you should receive the title unless you financed it. If that's the case then the finance company would hold the title.

I paid cash for it so no lien. At this time Ill just take the wait and see approach. If i get my plates and registration but no pink I'll contact PSM to find out what I need to do.

From what I remember, it takes a few weeks to get all the paperwork and plate from California, but it should all come to you since you paid cash.
