I always liked these films since I happened to see, by accident, 'On any Sunday' It wasn't really an accident, but we had this theater in Northridge, Cal., the Peppertree, that played double features of movies weeks after they made their original release--second run. My older sister and I went to see the Chuck Norris film, "Good Guys Wear Black" and the second feature was "On Any Sunday." Loved both films, but it was the latter that got me interested in motorsports (there were other factors, too). A more recent film was "Dust to Glory" about the Baja 1000 several years back which I recommend to watch, as well. Seeing as you guys are still having late winter, you have some time to catch up...

Didn't that movie have Harvey Mushman and Jeff Ward in it?

Maybe? I don't remember who was in it, but here is the info http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0158832/

I forgot that it was a 'sequel' to an older film that even had Steve McQueen in it

Harvey Mushman was the name Steve McQueen used when he went racing because he didn't want to get in trouble with the big shot movie producers.
