On Road Registration in Ontario Canada Possible-Lifan 110??
I was looking at buying a Lifan 110 clone but I'm not sure if I can get plates for it. Has anyone had any luck getting one registered in Canada?

This belongs is the registration issues forum.
You probably want to check with whatever department you register vehicles with and also insurance. If it has all the proper road equipment it should be registerable. Allen

Frostbite will move it I am sure. Since I don't know how it works in Canada, I probably am not qualified to give a good answer. In some US states small bikes don't need to be registered.

I live in London. You probably zipped right past my place if you took the 401. I don't have a bike yet I was just looking around.
I wanted a Honda CT70 and I stumbled on Lifan replacement engines. Then I saw they make a clone CT70. Now I'm looking at the Lifan LF200GY after finding this site and thinking "Holy Cr@p!". They look like a lot more bang for the buck than a CT70! |

The CT70 would be kinda of small to ride on the street and not feel like you are going to get run over. I don't see any problem registering a GY5, but you need to buy from a Canada dealer.

I took highway 7 from toronto to sarnia and back. Nice trip. Bypasses london, but goes through guelph kitchener acton stratford shakespere alisa craig. I actually went to brightsgrove just this side of sarnia.
As for registration, they can make you jump through hoops. I believe that if my wife didn't start to cry at one point, they were going to turn me around again. You need your bike, clear vin, matching vin on the crappy title you recieve. The bike has to have insurance and the safty certificate. Make sure you don't pay tax to the dealer. You pay your tax to the registration office. If you get turned down at one place find out why, fix the issue and go to another office and try again. That's all I can say. If you have the paperwork they should register your bike. I got mine from Daymak 400 and steeles. Daymak.com will show what they've got. Good luck. If you have any specific questions PM me, I'll reply. |
