Hawk 250cc tires

Could somebody please tell me what tire size could be fitted on the hawk? I would like to have super moto tires mounted and not the stock ones.

Your going to have problems finding true street tires in the Hawks rim sizes and they won't be cheap.

Picking the size and brand of tires that you want first, then buying the proper rims and lacing them to your hubs might be the best solution.

I've been looking for more street oriented tires for my Hawk as well....

Anybody have any experience or comments on VeeRubber VRM 163 or 193 tires?
18 and 21 inch options are available on eBay.

Thanks

I have the 21/18 on my Q Link and went with the Kenda Dual Sports with the Kenda Tuff Tubes. I did go a tad wider than normal on rear but I LOVE these tires. Ok in the wet, fine on my dirt roads and I can toss them on dry asphalt in the canyon twisties. So far they're wearing very well also.

Several people here have laced up rims of a different size. or bite the bullet and buy a new front wheel. Trying to find street tires for dirt bike rims doesn't leave many options. The 21" front could be refitted with an 18 or 19" rim and then the choices for a front tire is almost unlimited. The same with the rear going to a wider rim for the same wheel sizes. Just don't get too fat with the front or you will have problems turning.

the shinkos 705's are actually very good on the street, and they don't look like knobbies.
if you want a more street tire the shinko 777 is available in that size.

I have the shinko 705's on my hawk 90/90-21 and 120/80-18. They fit good and have excellent street grip.

As for a supermoto setup. your cheapest route would be find an 18-19 inch front wheel that fits and use that.

otherwise I think parts for the crf230L and M models will fit our bikes.
*Dont quote me on that*

That's about what I'd like to do. Thanks for posting the pic.

Yes, they are a DOT legal 10/90 style tire similar to the Kenda Trackmaster.
