Back in 2003 I was transitioning between jobs, and negotiated a two-week break between jobs so I could make a bucket-list trip to Key West. Had a nice little vaycay down there for about four days. Smoked the best cigar I ever had, bought at a local shop on Duval Street IIRC. (He said it was Venezuelan, but I wondered later if that was code for Cuban, i.e. smuggled in.) Also got to see the world-famous multi-toed (inbred) cats at the Hemingway House. And I tried out some key lime pie at a couple of locations (both great).

Fun to visit, but a party town is not where I would want to live.

The irony of J. Buffett's life is that he was probably too busy overseeing his businesses to live the life they depicted!
