The frustrating part is that when we bought both RX3's, of course, I was super-anal, adjusted the valves, went over every possible wire, connector, iridium plug, etc....and it does occasionally stall (less the more I ride it). it also has always taken a few cranks to get it fired.
My brother!? He hasn't even washed the damn thing yet and it fires right up and has never stalled even once! WTH?!

Tutorial from CSC on the some things to look at if you are experiencing the stalling issue.
http://californiascooterco.com/blog/?p=24180 As usual with CSC, they are being proactive when dealing with persistent and /or sometimes inconsistent problems with the RX3 rather than brush it off or sweep it under the rug. Rojo

I agree. They are seriously on top of listening and taking action. I haven't had a stalling problem, but I am interesting in this whole colder plug recommendation thing. I understand heat ranges and the general idea, just not totally clear on how it correlates to our bikes, the pro's and con's of it. Maybe someone can explain?
And if someone got my hint , pretend like you are explaining it to a dolphin. |

I have done almost everything on that blog so far. I have not put a new fuel injector or fuel filter. The bike doesn't have 8,000 miles. But I guess we can just try to change them both out and call it good. Seriously, thanks Rojo for sharing the blog here. |

Having two RX3's now, it's amazing the things one notices.
My white one, I have perfectly, analy done. Everything is tight, lubed, connected, adjusted....and sometimes (rarely) it stalls. The blue one I just got from my brother? Just this weekend I found the valves were out of adjustment, BOTH battery cables were completely loose, nothing was adjusted correctly and the right filter screen was loose and dripping....and it runs perfectly and never has stalled on him once. Go figure....

That would drive him Crazy. 2LZ has tremors when he sees picks of my "work" quad dirtied up during the season. Cant imagine him being able to sleep knowing there is anything loose on one of his machines......

So, this has happened to me. The bike got bad where it would die coming to a stop multiple times one day and maybe not so much another but to the point it had me worried. Just got worse and worse. I adjusted the valves and the prob went away. It came back after about 1000 miles. Started getting worse again. I did not do the valves correct the first time, bike was probably still to warm. Did the valves again and voila! the problem went away. Chang (my RX3) still OCCASIONALLY will die when coming to a stop. Not very often at all. Did the valves about 3000 miles ago. .08mm, nice little tap to them. Been a great cold weather bike too. All in all, the valves being adjusted solved the dying issue for me. Been a solid ride and love it.

Good to hear a proper valve adjustment did the trick! I know that these (and some of my other bikes) like to loosen battery terminals also. On the RX3, this can cause some weird symptoms, especially since these are ECM driven and injected, just like my Victory's. They can act weird with poor battery connections also. I check mine about every 500 miles on the RX3 so far, just in case.
