Wireing in a starter relay.

So I have a 107cc quad. I can get it to run and runs great.
I found the wires from the starter button and I have a starter relay from a old ford car. When I hook up the yellow/red wire to the relay , and ground the relay, and push the button, I get nothing. The relay doesnt click over. The relay is new. I chose the relay because it's a system I know, or a at least taught I did. Should I see 12 volts on that yellow red? The button shows continuity.
I'm considering a heavy duty push button to just jump the starter over without a relay. Any harm in that? No relay, just momentary button to push the starter?
Maybe point me to a wiring diagram?
It says alpine on the stator cover.
107 pz19 carb.

Did you try testing the relay with a 12V battery, to make sure the relay is working? Just because it's new doesn't necessarily mean it works.

There's a wide variety of relays HERE for you to find the correct replacement for your quad.

Also make sure it isn't the starter button that is bad

Ok. The black wire is getting intermittent 12v. Were do I connect that black wire once I trace down the break in wire causing intermittent 12v? The yellow red goes to the relay correct? There is a green wire grind on other side of starter button. Were does that go? The black wire looks like it goes to the headlight switch.
