Doh! Aftermarket CDI for Templar 250 fail. Help..?

So.. I bought an aftermarket CDI to disable the rev limiter and also increase the ignition timming. I bought the correct one for DC but somehow when I plugged it in and went to turn on the bike there was no power to anything so I found it popped the thin red wire fuse by the battery!! The crazy part is that it popped the fuse even though the bike ignition and everything was switched off! This does not make any sense.

Apparently one of the CDI wires in the harness must cross a power wire with a ground. If I can find what one I can probably rewire or disconnect the wire that is causing the problem. I know it's a longshot but anyone have any ideas on what wire could be causing the problem and how to fix it?
