Super Budget Engine Upgrades

I have a growing wishlist of super-budget engine upgrades for my 2022 Brozz. Any other suggestions?

-Clutch Springs: 15$ part number (CSK41)
https://www.amazon.com/EBC-Clutch-Sp...ps%2C90&sr=8-6

-Spark Plug: 6$x2 E3.36 vs any other?

Advance key is a good one.

A Wen rotary tool with flex shaft. 25-ish bucks
Rotary tool stones and sanding cones - varis but usually 15 to 20 dollars each. Call it 40.
Porting your own head - free.
Tt250 head gasket - steel and bumps the co.pression half a point. Like 12 bucks last I checked.

Performance (longer duration) cams from eBay are like 25 dollars as well.

Decat the stock exhaust. Varies depending on your skill set.

Those three things are the biggest bang.for the buck you will get. Don't waste your time on a bigger carb until you have done those upgrades first.

Is DIY porting the head a difficult operation?

Head porting isn't difficult or complicated.

just takes some preparation and patience with a fairly steady hand and a work area where metal filings wont be an issue.

You can start the easy half way by just opening the intake and exhaust entry/exit ports. Otherwise to do the full monty you'll need to remove the valves to work the transitions just past the valve seats and behind the stems.

the intake really doesn't need much done to it, it's the exhaust that's the problem. I removed the big lump that extends past the valve stem and into the down stream exhaust port

This is completely accurate. The intake mainly just needs cleaning up and smoothing out the transitions. You can trench the roof around the side of the valve stem a little as well but it isn't entirely necessary.

The exhaust is where the most work needs done.

I have that tool but my flex shaft got destroyed in a movers truck so I only have the rotary tool. Was the shaft needed to get access to everything?

Do you remember if you got your stones and cones from Amazon? any link?

The flex shaft is not really necessary but does make the job easier. Here's what i used.

I don't know if you red this thread yet but has a good bit of information on head porting and decking. http://www.chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=22777

Thank you, not yet read that thread. But I had seen a month or two ago all the videos Megadan made porting his hawk's new head and all this time I had not connected the dots and knew that Megadan and that YouTube channel was the same person!

The engine on your bike will be similar to the engine I had on my X22R. If you can find a high compression piston and a performance cam like I did it will make a huge difference.
