I should clarify.
If you just get clicking at the solenoid, your battery probably needs charging.


1. Disconnect the battery terminals and test the resting voltage. If it is less than 12v, it clearly needs a charge. But you can see if it starts with a boost (jumper cables).

2. Jump start with jumper cables. Use the starter button, with a good battery connected to the bike's battery (red to red, black to black). It might just start!

If that results in the starter button triggering the starter and it turns over normally, then your battery probably just needs charging...

The solenoid bypass just directly tests whether the starter will turn over normally which would suggest that the battery is not low on charge. But I suspect that the starter barely turns the engine over- so charge the battery.
