I got the compressors off of ebay for $27.

The shock I have only has the one adjustment that I know of. I love how it handles on the road. My original shock would "boat" every time I hit a small bump (man hole covers and what not).

I can save about $4 by ordering from eBay, instead of Rocky Mountain ATV.

It looks like you had to add washers for the right spacing, is that right? Otherwise, were the holes the right diameter?

I did have to add washers to get the correct spacing. The top bolt is smaller diameter than what will fit the shock.

Did you use a sleeve over the smaller bolt to compensate?

The mount on the frame where the shock mounts, takes a smaller diameter bolt. I don't remember if the shock itself takes a smaller bolt or not. I haven't had any problems with it and have been using this set up for 2 years. I will note that I had to rebuild my bike since my frame broke in half. The original frame had the shock mounted on the top of the swing arm. The new frame had the mount for the lower linkage setup.

Hey thanks all for your replies and comments. Overall, this seems daunting to me. If only the original manufacturer of the shock would of engraved a product number on it. This process would of been so much easier. But I have yet to find any product number or name on the shock.

It really was Ed to the rescue. Perhaps you can find a '99-'02 Yamaha R6 shock on CL or eBay. There are people parting out R6 bikes in my area quite often.

I also did an R6 shock . I do not remember from what year . Has the red spring , I believe to be softer or lower rate than the yellow spring . http://www.chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=6661
