Saw (another) Italika*

Looked just like the 250 Hi-Bird "naked" street bike, but with the name Italika, and Mexican license plate on it.

*I have seen quite a few Italikas of scooters and those plain CB125 Honda-types ridden by Mexican commuters to work on the US side of the border. I think Italika has a hold as the predominant Chinese brand in Mexico, and Mexico is one of those countries that allow near monopolies of industries, so not too many other Chinese makes there. Not that they don't exist, but, not too many. I have only seen Italika there, besides the Japanese brands.

Was it one of these?

RT-200

BTW, most of the italikas i have looked at are 80%chinese and the rest made by italika in mexico. They have a very practical line up of bikes at a great price. And any Electra (common mexican chain store) is a dealer. I think i can even order parts through them! But italika claims about 50%of new moto sales for a reason. the jap bikes have 25%-40% import tax and good luck finding a dealer......

Sorry for the delay in responding...

It was a non-fairing bike which Hi-Bird used to sell here. BTW, I dug up a company that seemed to show alot of promise, but seems to be quiet lately as far as bikes go, that might have been the source OEM for your Italika.

On Alibaba, they claim to be one of the OEMs for Italika
