Thumper, yes this is how i am testing output from stator. This is how most ignitions work without batteries. i should get enough AC voltage at cranking speed to fire. i get squat lol. literally 0.

anyone got a flywheel they wana sell?

Oh. I see. I deleted that last post (you answered the question).

But, how can a rotor "die"? I mean, it supported AC voltage production for 80+ miles. Maybe it would be a good idea to check continuity on the wires with a voltmeter.

Could the rotor get demagnetized?

already checked continuity and everything checks good. no grounds. i guess if they sit a long time they can die. im literally stumped because i dont know what else could be wrong

One other possibility is the pickup/sender that senses the trigger on the stator.

Otherwise, I have to agree there is a wiring problem like a switch.

the way i am testing there are no switches hooked up to the circuit. im testing the wires coming out of the stator for AC current. 2 wires. One is AC current for Spark. Other wire is for CDI pickup.i get no AC current to produce spark, and no signal from the Pickup. With 2 stators.

Can you remove the spark plug and turn the crank with the 14mm or 15mm bolt that holds on the rotor?

You can do this through the stator bolt access port with a socket on a high speed drill. I am just thinking of getting some higher rpm on the rotor/stator.

You may need someone to run the drill, but maybe not if you have alligator clamps on your multitester/voltmeter.

OK, this makes it sound like the bike does actually have some cutoff switches, but you disconnected them. That might be the same as having the kickstand down or the front brake lever not pulled, or the kill switch in the Off position. Am I correct? If so, you probably need to make sure there is continuity in the wiring of all your cutoffs. I'm thinking that the motor wiring goes to the other electrical parts on the frame, and the way the whole harness is designed, with the cutoffs, you need to make sure they are all in continuity. I'm not really sure about all this, but it's something to consider.

I’m confused, is this a electric start bike? If so how is the battery? Sorry if I missed something in earlier posts. Hoping to help is all…

It's one of these two models, main difference being tires. Yes, a street bike, full electrics.

once again. no switches or cutoffs are being tested. nothing else is hooked to the stator. im testing the wires coming directly out of the stator. no cutoffs or anything are involved anymore.

Those are really good bikes. It's either a safety switch (like clutch or sidestand) or a CDI unit, but mine has never failed on Q. I'd pull the tank/seat and check every connection for shorting or bad connection. It has to be simple.

OK. I am stumped as well. The isolated leads coming out of the case from the stator should make AC. Have you tested by touching ground with one voltmeter lead (black), and each stator lead (separately) with the red voltmeter lead while spinning the crank? I am not sure if that AC is "floating" on the output wires.

I have never heard that a rotor can go bad, so I am not yet convinced here

I had a Johnson 40 hp outboard completely lose spark because the magnet on the flywheel was slightly loose ,I figured it would effect the timing but still give spark but it did not give us anything .Also ,the trigger coil might need input power on one side in order for it to work .

It does have a side stand switch. No spark if the stand is down or the switch is malfunctioning. I would rule this out by disconnecting the switch at the side stand.

FYI-
OP has stated a few times that he is testing voltage output from the isolated stator by disconnecting it and connecting to the stator output wires. There are NO switches or any other components involved.

It is in more than one post. This is why it is so puzzling that there is no AC voltage coming out of the stator.

Here are two examples:
