The stock variator likely has 14 gram rollers and the clutch springs are probably scooter ones. I am happy with the 8 gram sliders so far. The yellow springs are suppose to be 1500 rpm engagement. The have red that is 2000rpm.

The mass of the buggy with two people is probably somewhat similar to Linda's quad with one person and those tall tires. I'll likely try your recipe.

The good ness is that sliders and springs are really cheap. I put a new belt in while I was in there.

Virtually free on Taobao. I can't believe how cheap GY6 stuff is.

We had the buggy out tonight. Total of 480lbs of weight. 3 people and one being dragged behind. The GY6 had no problem dragging the sled across dirt with 180lbs on it. I am sure that we got up to 25mph with that combo too. 4 acres of yard that is pretty much covered in tracks.

That's awesome! I'm amazed at the punishment the little GY6 can take.

The big girls put it to the test this afternoon. I saw it on two wheels and in the air a few times. Lost the battery so we had to make a new strap and crimp some new connections on. Recycled a fuse holder from the green van.

The buggy is still working great. Just needs a new battery. Current one won't hold a charge after someone left the lights on.

Emilie just starting driving it tonight.
