....well, fictitiously for you guys.

Let's say you have...oh....for the sake of a baseline, 5 grand in your pocket (absolute high end. You really don't want to spend that much) and you want to get something "vintage". Now, I know vintage has a broad spectrum of opinions these days. I never thought the bikes I rode in high school would be considered vintage, but now they are.

Reason I ask is that I got the go-ahead (gotta love Mrs. 2LZ!) to get something that I can take to our local car show in July, and other local events. I've been looking at old BSA's, Triumphs, Honda's, etc.... I'm balking on the Brit stuff because I'd need to buy yet another set of tools (Whitworth)......but man, it seems there are some smokin' deals out there on them. Mind you, this won't be a daily rider, maybe a once-every-few-weeks around the block kind of bike and to local car/bike events.

What would be your choice? Go ahead! Spend away!

I know this isn’t going to fit the thread. But you shouldn’t have started some thing that I need to finish. Ha ha ha ha.

I have to share my favorite vintage item even if it’s not good for car shows.

This is the dream for me. but the original. These are some rebuilt things in the video. Basically just as good as the original it looks like.

I had a 200x for years. It was the fastest in it's time until the 250R. It's only been a few years that i have sold it.

Because I`m weird... Gilera CX125. For some reason been drawn to small CC bikes lately.

These are of course from around the eighties so the question lingers what is considered "vintage" these days.

What's killin' me during all this searching is these guys who take perfectly good classic/vintage COMPLETE bikes and cut them up into cafe racers. Just can't see that.....
