I use scouring pads alone. Can't tell any difference in sound.

The only motorcycle road test I ever took was in Il. in late 60's. I brought in a 250cc greeves trials bike with an expansion chamber in back of truck. Way too loud to get by so I stuffed it full of course steel wool with a screw driver. Was the last year you could get that bike licensed in Il. so it had a legal plate on it. It ran like crap with the wool inside there but I had no problems passing the driving test. took only about a day to blow it all back out. I liked that bike, it had the weird forks on front and was easy to roll it over a log or telephone pole laying in the dirt. john

I am not sure the exact model anymore. It was a 68 and had a cobled on tail light from a bsa and a head light, the bike shop just told me it was a trials model. Believe the forks were reverse earls, any way had a mostly horizontal bar that ran from one side of front axle to the other around the back of the wheel and what looked to be rear shocks/springs on the front. Not good handling on blacktop but the best I had ever rode with on dirt. No terrain was too much for the front end. It had the round cyl where the moto-cross model had a square head and cyl. john

Finally, the exhaust is ready. Although I have a dremel 3000 and circular saw, I used the hacksaw to make straight cuts (well, I tried at least). The oricginal size was 45 cm and cut about 15 or 16 cm of pipe.
First, I marked the pipe and used the clamp for straigh cuts. The first cut was 6 cm long and the second 10 cm. Second, each section was cut vertically around 1.5 cm for fitting into the pipe (don´t have pics). Third, used 8 scouring pads and asembled the whole exhaust and rivet Before cutting the exhaust (didn´t like the lenght) After (looks better) I bought a mainjet dynojet 142 equal to mikuni 132.5 size (according to a motorcycle forum) but will do the plug chop once the cold front let me ride.
