Like Ecomouse said, I saved on the bike so I could spend the money to make it mine.
I agree completely. I posted the exact sentiments a mere two minutes before you, while you were composing your reply.

Yeah, but I beat you both at 7.27pm by basically saying the same with , Det, you have just about equaled the cost of a fully equipped Jap/german base adv bike. (That one way to look at it).

Yep, with your suggestions on those "farkles", those parts are on there way.

Fortunately, my farkle list does have an end. There might be some new fangled thing down the line I'll think I need... but ultimately, I'm setting the RX3 up for my girlfriend exactly as if were going to be mine. Then, I'm going to start all over again with a CB500X +Rally Raid 3 set-up for myself!

Right now, I've got:
19" Front Wheel
13T/45T Sprocket Combo
WPS Lithium Battery
Smoke Windshield
Super Wide Center Stand
Big Foot Kickstand
ProTaper Hi Rise Bars
Cycra Pro-Bend Barkbusters
Oxford Heated Grips
Emgo Rectangle Mirrors
30w LED Driving Lights
12v Socket / USB Plug

Items that will be here shortly:
Tall Seat Concepts Seat
Progressive Rear Shock
Oversize Brake Rotor
Adjustable Levers
Skid Plate (maybe)
Black 36L Aluminum Panniers (not CSC/Tourfella brand)

Items that I've not found I can get yet, but would like:
2016 Light Housing
2016 Adjustable Forks

After that, it's really just MEFO tires and maybe a new set of Excel Rims laced up by Woody's. Then it's my turn!

Remember, regardless of how much you spend on the farkles, you'd be spending at least the same amount (And much more if your farkles were premium brand OEM farkles) for them no matter what make/model of bike you were putting them on.

What you should do is compare the cost of your RX3 and farkles to a similarly equipped name brand bike and farkles. Then you can sit back and feel smug about how little you've spent in comparison.

Cheers,

Dan K.

Seems I've spent enough on farkles to buy another RX3. Price goes up when the bike does a face plant on concrete at 65mph. Had to buy a whole Tourfella set just to get one pannier.

I got a pair of side cases
They can be bought 1 by 1 just shipping is troublesome

I just had to buy two more aftermarket trunks for ours. It seems when frozen solid and the snow load collapses the storage unit, they don't take too kindly to having a metal tent frame land on them. Fortunately, at 30-something each, it wasn't a big deal.

Started used

Fortunately I started by buying a used 2015 RX3. Lower initial cost and the fact it came with couple of upgrades helped.
Came with:
19” front wheel
Heated Grips
Large block knobby tires

Then I bought:
Auxiliary LED lights
2nd set of keys
USB power port
12” iphone lightning cable
Ram Phone mount
13 tooth sprocket
X ring chain (gold bling)
Hand guards
Made custom Moab adventure decals
Seat concepts tall seat
Skid plate
Extra set of inner tubes
New helmet
Gloves to match bike. (Orange!)

I think I’m done for now. I’m loving it! Moab next week with some other Utah dual sport riders. Then Moab again in May with the CSC group.
