Well crap. The one I was gonna buy from a guy got it delivered today and it was damaged and he refused delivery.

Guess I'll just play the waiting game because these arent worth $1800-$2000, especially since the chain/sprockets and carb need upgraded from the get go.

You don't have to change the sprocket, chain, or carb on the DF250RTG. I have been running mine without changing either the carb, chain,or sprocket for two years.

I agree. The carb that come on the DF250RTG are good carbs which some on here have upgrade to. As far as sprockets and chains, i'm still running stock chain and front sprocket. I changed the rear to lower the rpms at higher speeds for the interstate. Stock gearing is good if you're only riding around on back roads doing 50-60 mph.

That's strange. i wonder why DF used the pumper on the X22R , Ghost and Villian Chopper and not on the RTG?

It came with the PZ30 and still has it installed unmodified. Runs just fine so I am not going to monkey with it.

Been following this thread for a while; some great info here! Tinkering ideas of getting one of these and making some scrambler mods...does anyone know if there is an aftermarket high exhaust pipe for the 165FMM? Would love to swap in a high pipe that runs through the frame like on my DT175.

Exhaust is generally not made for the engine, but rather the particular model bike. You will probably have to find a custom exhaust, or have one made and/or bent for your particular application. You might possibly find an exhaust on CSC Motorcycle's site since they have a cafe-style bike similar to this Dongfang bike. But, my guess it would be for general performance and not for transforming their cafe to a scrambler in the shape you are seeking. I really like your idea, and suggest after buying the bike, you start on the scrambler transformation anyway, and worry about the exhaust later on.

You could look into the possibility of using the Cleveland Cycle Werkes Ace Scrambler exhaust. You might have to figure out the mounting at the back, but it is probably the closest thing to the DF250RTG out there. https://clevelandspeedshop.com/colle...ambler-exhaust

That might work just fine assuming the exhaust port is the same as CCW uses the pushrod engine. Maybe just buy the CCW scrambler and be done with it. Good looking bike.

The problem I forsee is the fact that CCW's proprietary engines are/were made by Lifan. I remember when the CCW bikes were popular, they were on the EPA/DOT certification list and the engine manufacturer of record was Lifan, not the more common Zongshen proprietary engines found in the current crop of brands such as Apollo, CSC (well, duh! the entire bikes are manufactured by Zongshen ), Dongfang, and even that Janus brand among others. So, yes, that could be an issue.

The ACE might be a good bike if CCW has some leftover. They seem to be in some kind of turmoil right now as we recently discussed them on another thread regarding their 400cc bike they are teasing on their site.
