x31 Throttle tube problems, updated!
I figured out my throttle problems. It was a combination of a couple things.
1. The throttle tube was out of round. 2. There was too much paint on the aftermarket handle bars I purchased, so I sanded some of that off. 3. The plastic part of the throttle tube that holds the cable was dragging on the throttle cable housing. 4. There was a gigantic burr on the inside of the throttle cable housing also causing the tube to drag. 5. Cable was also kinked. Fixed all of this stuff, so now even without a cable it functions oh soo smooth. |

Sounds like a perfect storm. Glad you figured it out.
If you haven't already, I recommend that you lube the cable and put some lube on the handlebar to prevent rust. Grease is too sticky, so I use clear silicone spray. Jig-a-Loo is a decent product, and you can find it at Crappy Tire or Rona.
